Those with unwanted junk, debris and brush will be able to discard their items in this upcoming event.

The City of Port Isabel will host its Clean Wave Campaign for two weekends this month.

The first weekend of the campaign will be held on June 18 an 19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Port Isabel Public Works Department, which is located at 217 W. Hickman Ave.

The second weekend of the campaign will be held on June 25 and 26 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the city pool, located at 1802 3rd St.

As part of the campaign, Port Isabel residents will be able to get rid of brush and bulky items that will be disposed of free of cost.

There will be roll off containers available both weekends where residents can unload their items.

Proof of address, such as a utility bill or ID is required to participate.

The waste reduction campaign is put together by the combined efforts of the city’s code enforcement and public works departments.

The campaign aims to reduce the amount of waste in the city that can potentially clog storm drains and cause human health hazards by harboring vermin.
