The International Museum of Art & Science announced its first community juried photograph exhibition of 2020.
Photo entries will be accepted through June 21, and the exhibit is open to all photographers — regardless of experience or age.
The project consists of a call to the public to submit their photographs of bees and butterflies from the region and to allow the community to vote on the top 20 images that the IMAS will print and curate for an on-site exhibition.
Details and a submission form can be found online: https://theimasonline.org/welcome/pollinators-in-action/.
Furthermore, the IMAS will also curate an online exhibition space for all entries and will host an exhibition reception for all participants and their families with special guests Paula Sharp and Ross Eatman on Aug. 15.
Photographs may be submitted through June 21.
Reopening Celebration Raffle
The IMAS is celebrating its reopening with a special raffle, just in time for Father’s Day.
CARATS in McAllen donated a men’s timepiece valued at $2395. The smartwatch, men’s Prestige Titanium Chrono Watch by Philip Stein, would make the perfect Father’s Day present or a special gift for the man in your life, raffle organizers said.
Tickets are available for purchase for $50 each at the IMAS, online, or by phone. The winner will be announced Friday, June 19.
Only 100 tickets will be made available for this item and will be available until June 19, or until sold out.
Ticket sales all support programs and exhibits at the IMAS, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
