Marco Ortiz Presents, Love Your City at Quinta Mazatlán!Recycling Education Coordinator, from the McAllen Recycling Center, Marco Ortiz will be at Quinta Mazatlán on Thursday, Feb.14 at 6 p.m. to discuss “Recycling for A More Sustainable City”.

Come join Marco and listen to his presentation on everything recycling. His extensive knowledge and passion for recycling will help everyone learn how to create a more sustainable and clean environment within our local community. His discussion will cover the City of McAllen’s recycling methods and how local businesses and individuals can recycle to keep our local community sustainable.

He’ll offer his Top 10 Tips on how to recycle at home and how to ‘love’ your city on Valentine’s Day!

Ortiz is the recycling education Coordinator for the city of McAllen. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business-Management from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with a concentration on Sustainable Supply Chain Management. His responsibilities as a recycling education coordinator are to ensure the residents of McAllen understand the importance of recycling while also improving cost savings through waste diversion.

He is involved in multiple environmental projects around the city such as the Great American Clean up, Project Clean Neighborhood, Texas Recycles Day, and he serves on the Keep McAllen Beautiful board as a public works liaison. His primary duties are to conduct Recycling center tours, conduct presentations at city schools and businesses, as well as to help promote recycling through advertising, marketing and public relations.

The Thursday Evening Speaker Series takes place on Thursday evenings through April 2019 and is proudly sponsored by Texas Regional Bank. The program fee is $3 per person and no advance reservation is required. Quinta Mazatlán is located 600 Sunset in McAllen, one block south of La Plaza Mall on 10th Street.
